Last year I learnt how to fingerknit, thought it was fun to do, but didn’t really know what to do with the product, which sorta turned into a thick string, so I didn’t get hooked. This spring I cut my hair short, which meant that I couldn’t keep my hands occupied with braiding my hair during boring lessons, so I started to bring some yarn I didn’t know what to do with anyway to classes. I figured I could always knit it into something more interesting later. The other day I ran out of yarn in the middle of a lecture and started fingerknitting with my fingerknitted yarn. The result was this awesome texture that I fell in love with instantly.

I made sure to get matching buttons so I could wear both at once and I must say: It is super comfy and I’m gonna be wearing it until my throat is less sore. Probably.

Holy shit, I actually did this. It’s been standing on my desk waiting to be done for a couple of weeks, and now I’ve finally done it.

It’s two different kinds of decorative tape which I put on top of nail polish organizer. I can very easily tell that I got discount tape, because I’ve already had to adjust it a couple of times. I think I’m gonna add normal tape or some glue to keep it in place.

Very much inspired by Karen Kavett and her love of washi tape.

My current school project is to design a retail store for a brand of our choosing. Being the nerd that I am, I decided to go for DFTBA Records. First part of the task was to create two image boards and so I made these lifestyle and product boards. The class could easily tell the target group was a bunch of young nerds, who value community, charity and freedom to be weird, so it went really well. :)

Finally getting around to finishing my Runner 5 cosplay. I had initially planned to make three name tags (one for the front, one for the back and a last one for a backpack), but I only had time to make one of them. Here’s a second.
I’m considering sewing them onto a different shirt, which is made out of actual sports fabric. I initially didn’t want to ruin the fabric in case I changed my mind, but that creates a weird situation where I either don’t wear the best shirt for running or I don’t wear the best shirt for being Runner 5, so I’m probably gonna do that.

My Runner 5 cosplay from Zombies, Run!

Basically, it’s me in my running gear with a headset and a big name tag, because, well, that’s who Runner 5 is.

I did a bunch of thinking about the name tag. First of all, it would be useful for the operators or strangers the runners meet in the field to identify them by. Secondly, Runner 4 made them. Thirdly, they wouldn’t want to waste electricity on a project like this, so I embroidered and sewed it by hand and intentionally badly. (It says Runner 5, Abel Township if it’s too hard to see.)

I jogged around the con whenever I remembered and I was actually recognized! That was freaking awesome. Many high fives were had.

Rarity was, ah, supposed to be Korean. It, uhm, sort of really failed. That is something I really need to practice. Her belt was inspired by my sewing teacher who would wear a measuring tape as a necklace.

Rarity My Little Pony My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic Human version I swear she's not white You can sort of see it when you compare her to the white ones And maybe if you're more used to not needing specific clues for it? But no I will admit my defeat on this point I just didn't have time to fix her drawing
